Title One Reading

The Title One Reading program is a federal program that is funded by the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The goal of the Title One Reading program is to provide extra reading instruction to your child so that your child can meet or maintain the grade level reading expectations. Participation in the program will give your child additional reading instruction and practice in a small group setting.

We have two Title One Reading teachers in our district. Mrs. Peters teaches at LaPorte City Elementary, and Mrs. Asmussen teaches at Dysart Elementary. Students may receive approximately 20-30 minutes of supplemental reading instruction each day. This time is in addition to the reading instruction students receive in their regular classroom setting.
