Congratulations to the Union Large Group Speech Team for their fantastic performances at District Contest this past weekend at Waterloo West! The team returned with two Division I’s and two Division II’s. Those receiving Division I’s will move on to the State Contest in Decorah on February 5th. Receiving Division I’s were:

Musical Theater – Pippen – Laura Rempe, Joe Bistline, Austin Martin, Carlie Spore, Ellie Rathe, and Matt Carlson.

Musical Theater – Seussical – Rebekah Dickerson, Cora Klein, Elle Hookham, Matthew Medina, Hayden Spore, Erica Hoppe, Daniel Gray, and Landen Reed

Receiving Divisions II’s:

Reader’s Theater – Will the Circle Be Unbroken – Rebecka Dickerson, Ava Corpman, and Hunter Schaefer.

Short Film – Semicolon – Chloe Juhl, Abby Bonner, Haven Ellsworth, Alexis Nosko, Kylee Petersen, Arianna Abrahamson, and Emma Jenkins.

The 2022 Young Women in Leadership Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from morning to early afternoon. This fourth annual event, hosted by the University of Northern Iowa Women in Business, is open to all high school students and is geared toward developing young leaders. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers focused on topics relating to leadership, as well as personal and professional development. Please let Mrs. Warren know if you are interested ASAP and we need to have at least 10-12 students that want to attend on March 9, 2022.

Its that time of year again!! THE 2022 GOLD STAR AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING TEACHING nomination forms are here in the office and in the Media Center or you can nominate online. If you have a teacher that has made a difference in your life or has gone above and beyond, please nominate them!!
