Wednesday during lunch will be the sign up to donate blood! NHS is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive Friday, November 5 from 8-12 in the band room. You must be 16 years or older to donate. Why should you donate? Almost everyone during their life will know someone who needs a blood transfusion. There is no substitute and still only one source of blood for transfusion – volunteer blood donors. Save a life and feel good!

There will be a MVP mentor meeting next Wednesday during WIN. Mrs. Kriz will select you. Let her know if you need to go somewhere else. If you can’t attend, please see Mrs. Kriz to pick up a field trip form for 10/27.

Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors: The University of Minnesota – Twin Cities is joining us virtually during WIN Tuesday, November 2. If you’d like to learn more about their university, sign up to attend the session. Go to your Canvas Calendar. Click on “Find Appointments.” Make sure UHS 2021-22 is selected. Find and click on the visit info on the calendar. Click “Reserve” to submit your name. Mrs. Kriz will select you for WIN that day.

Sunnycrest Nursing Center in Dysart is looking to hire a couple dietary aides to work part time from after school until 7:15 pm. Students must be at least 16 years old. Starting pay is $9 per hour. Please call Jackie Obrosk at 319-476-2400 or email at jobrosk@qhcmcares.com if interested.

The Student Food Drive has officially started! Help our school win by bringing in non-perishable food items (this week bonus points are given for canned fruit) or personal care items such as toilet paper, toothpaste or money. Items are collected by your 4th Hour RED Day classroom; prizes will be awarded to top individual contributors each week as well as the overall classroom (by points per student).

PHOTO RETAKES will be Monday, November 1st in the morning.
