Thursday, May 6th, 2021 RED Day Day #3

  • Please be sure to welcome the 5th graders to UMS today!!! We are so glad they are here!


  •  If you have GOT U Tickets be sure to put them in for our weekly drawing in the office.  BE sure to write your first and last name on the back of the tickets!!  This drawing will be for an item of your choice out of the case and a pizza coupon.   I will draw the winners tomorrow! Good Luck!   
  • Any 8th graders interested in  being on the student council at the high school please see Mr. Moody or Mr. Slack ASAP!!!!!
  • Shadow Day will be tomorrow and next Tuesday.  For our incoming 6th graders. 
  • Today is mid term for 4th quarter. 


  • Reminder :  students please be wearing your masks properly and follow the arrows in the hallways.    
  • Silver Cord Hours have been updated again.  They are on the side  of the trophy case.  Be sure to check them out!!! Any questions or concerns just let me know! Thanks!   8th graders don’t forget if you plan to earn your 100 hours, please turn in your hours!  These will need to be turned in by  Friday, May 14th. No Exceptions!!
  • Reminder:  ALL Detention time needs to be made up by Friday, May 28th
  • NO MORNING WORKOUTS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. 
  • Please check the list on the window by the office door.  These are the students who have already purchased a yearbook.  You can still purchase a yearbook if you want to, they are $20.00  


  • Any 7th and 8th grade girls wanting to go out for middle school softball please sign up in the office. 
  • Silver Cord Opportunity coming up in June.   The Benton County Cattlemen Beef Booth during the Benton County Fair in Vinton on June 23rd through the 27th. Please contact Lori Wauters if interested in helping.  jlwaters@netins.net 
  • Any 7th and 8th graders wanting to go out for middle school  baseball,please sign up in the office.  We mainly need 7th graders, since we already had an 8th grade sign up.  Thanks

    

  • Great job to the 7th and 8th grade  boys track teams at Vinton on Tuesday night. 
7th grade was 3rd as a team with 81.75 points. Behind Benton with 91.5 and Vinton-Shellsburg with 98.5

8th grade was 7th as a team with 47 points.

The competition was very strong last night!

1st place finishers were:

7th Shuttle Hurdle relay of : Ethan Winnike, Mays Weber, Cooper Spore, and Preston Christie.

Preston Christie also won the 7th grade 100 hurdles

Andrew Sadler was 2nd in the 8th grade 100 hurdles

Caden Sorensen was 2nd in the 7th grade 200 hurdles
