Congratulations to the Academic Decathlon students for a great regional competition yesterday. The team got 2nd place! State qualifications get released Monday night, but looks pretty promising as of now! Also thank you to Mr. Toenges and Mr. Cayton for volunteering to judge speeches and interviews and to Logan Brown for buying breakfast pizza for the students yesterday!!

Good luck tonight to the wrestlers against AGWSR and Sumner-Fredericksburg right here at UHS starting at 6:15!!

TODAY after school Rockets Bakery will be doing an after school special from 3-4:30 p.m. HALF PRICE DONUTS!!!!

GOLD STAR AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING TEACHING: Students, it is time to recognize those teachers that have gone above and beyond and have made a difference in your educational experience here at UHS!!! There are easy to complete forms in the office and forms can be returned to the office once completed. Nominations are due Thursday February 20th.

Mr. Slater has a sign-up sheet on his door for boys’ golf. Sign up soon so apparel purchases can be made and returned in time for the beginning of the season. Any questions see Mr. Slater.

Any girls in grades 9-12 who are interested in learning about strong leadership skills, UNI is hosting a workshop in this area Wednesday, March 4th. Please sign up using the Google form Mrs. Kriz sent out a couple weeks ago or see Mrs. Warren. Please sign up by January 31st.

For our annual fundraiser this year, the student council is having a donation drive and throwing a Valentine’s Day dance on Friday, February 14! All the donations and money from the dance will be donated to the Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo. Food, toys, and other care supplies for the animals are often expensive, so donations are very much appreciated! Donations will be collected in advisory every Monday. When the donation drive is over, the advisory with the most donations will receive a plate of Valentine’s Day treats! Please donate and help the humane society to continue caring for animals waiting for a home! The donation drive will begin the week of January 20th and go through February 14th! Please look at the posters hanging around school to see what items are most in need!
