A local resident is looking to hire a high school student (16 years +) to do random work such as mowing, painting, picking up branches, and more as they renovate their La Porte City home. They will pay $10/hour. The work is as needed, no set times as they are traveling from the Des Moines area. They are looking for someone available this weekend, if possible. GERMAN TRIP: There will be a meeting next Wednesday, September 18th during WIN for anyone interested in going on the exchange trip to Germany next summer. Please choose Frau Dunkelberger for WIN that day if you are interested.

Are you interested in politics? Have you ever thought about what it would be like to work on a Presidential Campaign? The Joe Biden For President Campaign is offering a Fellowship opportunity to motivated students in the region that want to make a difference in their community. As a Biden Fellow, you will get to work first hand with an organizer to learn how to create change from the ground up. Those interested in applying should please email mwatson@joebiden.com.

Registration for the 2019-2020 JA Titan Challenge is now open! There are 32 team slots available. Students (Junior or Seniors) may register in teams of 2. Student teams have complete control of operating their own virtual business and making key decisions. Companies (teams) are challenged to outperform the competition in profit, sales, and market share with the support of a volunteer mentor. First place is a $1500.00 scholarship each and second place is $750.00 scholarship each. Please see Mrs. Warren for sign-up papers. We need to get papers filled out ASAP and the date of competition is Wednesday, November 20th!
