Thursday, September 18th 2025 Red day #5

CONGRATULATIONS to the girls tennis team on competing in the 2025 Fall Girls Tennis Individual Regional. Addie Endel and Madison Martin were stopped in the first round vs. Pella Christian’s Gibson & Nikkel. Bailey Brown and Addison Pospisil were also stopped by Columbus’ Ava Kimball and Macey O’Brien in the first round but they played some top tennis for their season! Individually #1 Alivia Keegan beat AP’s Amy Mulder to get into second round. She faced the #2 seeded #1 Ava Breems from Pella Christian (who took 2nd in the entire region to move on to state) and won 2 games in two sets before conceding to the regional. Union’s #4 Kamryn Foulk, lone sophomore on the roster, beat senior #3 Holly Haugstad from AP to make it into the bracket on a pigtail match-up. She fought a hard long fight in many runs across the court for the (6-4)(6-1) win. She then took on Katherine Hansen from Independence in another hard fought battle that came down to deuce points before her day was done. CONGRATULATIONS to the Union Knights on a tough Individual Regional Match-up at Byrnes Park yesterday!
