The girls tennis team went to Individual Regionals tennis at Byrnes Park yesterday competing against 8 other schools including Columbus Catholic, Independence, Aplington Parkersburg, Maquoketa, Camanche, Marion, Waverly Shellrock, and top school Xavier. Competing for Union in Singles was Kamryn Foulk and Charli Weber. Competing for Union in Doubles yesterday were the teams of Laura Dutler and partner Lane Wood and also Haylee Hegdahl and partner CJ Craft. Charli Weber’s first opponent went on to qualify for state. Laura and Lane’s first opponent Xavier not only was the #1 team of the day, but they only gave up 1 game all day long. Haylee and CJ gave in on a tie breaker to their opponents from WSR who took 3rd in the tournament yesterday. Our girls were solid against 2026 State Qualifiers. You have to earn 1st or 2nd place in yesterdays tournament to advance on to state. They only advance 2 singles and 2 doubles players (or 6 players out of 54 girls who begin the day) to advance to state tennis. Our girls did a great job representing Union yesterday!
CONGRATS!
GOOD LUCK tonight to the cross country team who is running in the Sam Iverson XC Invitational at Grundy Center tonight!!

Our Northwest Iowa Community College Admissions rep will be here next Thursday, October 2 at 2 PM. NCC is located in Sheldon, Iowa and is known for their programs in Powerline Technology, Nursing, Electrical Engineering Technician, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. If you’d like to attend, please submit your name through this Form.
Union’s Leadership Class would like to introduce a buddy system where you can be part of a great change! Juniors and freshmen are paired together, seniors and sophomores are paired together and you meet up with your buddy once a week. Mentors can also earn Silver Cord hours! Conversations with your mentees may focus on school work, life, conflicts, friends, or maybe just provide a time to connect with someone. We hope this fun idea will help students hold each other accountable and create a more friendly environment between our student body. A survey was sent out to all the Juniors/Seniors to gather a number on how many mentors we will have! Please fill out if interested!
*Please submit this survey by Friday, 9/25 (ONLY if interested)
