UHS FALL PLAY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY!! Welcome aboard the Starship Adventure! For one hundred missions, Captain Adrian Key and the Galactic Voyagers have ventured into deep space on missions of science and discovery––that is, until High Command decides to convert the aging Adventure into a cruise ship for galactic tourists. When the Voyagers ferry these unwelcome guests––as well as an upstart Lieutenant trying to usurp command––to Captain Key’s forced retirement party, a mysterious computer malfunction sets their final flight on a collision course with a gravity well. Can the Voyagers fix their beloved ship in time to avert disaster, even as a tourist revolt threatens to scuttle their efforts? Whatever the outcome, it is sure to be an Adventure to remember!

Mrs. Wittenburg’s Health II class wants to encourage students to express gratitude EVERYDAY! Every day the climate and culture of our school is affected directly by you and the way we treat others in OUR building. Help make someone’s day better and brighter! Check out the Gratitude Board by the Media Center to see how YOU can express gratitude throughout the building and holiday seasons. If you observe someone else expressing gratitude, we encourage you to drop their name and what they did in the box on the Gratitude Board. Each week, there will be prizes and special recognitions! We hope to see MANY ACTS OF GRATITUDE throughout the building! You may consider putting your own name for nominating others, as well. THANK YOU in advance for making our school a great place to be! Are you 16 years old or older and want to help save lives? Consider donating blood at the upcoming American Red Cross Blood Drive next Friday (11/21)! There are still appointments available at 9:45am, 10:15am, 10:45am, and 12:30pm. Email Mrs. Kriz to sign up. Students that are 16 will need to pick up a donation permission form. All donors will score a classic pair of Red Cross x PAC-MAN socks. You’ll also get a custom Red Cross x PAC-MAN GASHAPON when you come to give blood during the same timeframe.

NHS is also looking for males who have donated blood before to donate Power Red. This donation is where a donor provides two units of red blood cells only. The red blood cells are collected, and the plasma and platelets are returned to the donor. Oftentimes, donors feel better after donation. If you’d like to sign up for this donation, the following times are available: 9, 9:30, 10, 10:30 and 11 AM.

NHS seniors will be meeting Friday during WIN in the Media Center.

Boys State: American Legion Boys State of Iowa is a six-day immersive civics camp that provides fun hands-on experiences in the operation and fundamentals of government. The LEADS curriculum of Learn, Engage, Accept, Do & Share, shapes and empowers students to take action and accomplish great things. Each day is filled with leadership development and activities found only at Boys State. This event is open to all current junior boys. Dates are June 21-26, 2026.
