GOOD LUCK to the Jazz Bands tonight at the IHSMA Jazz Band Festival being held right here at UHS!! Union Jazz 2 performs at 4 pm and Jazz 1 performs at 7:10. Cost is $3 for students to come watch.

The 2022 Young Women in Leadership Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from morning to early afternoon. This fourth annual event, hosted by the University of Northern Iowa Women in Business, is open to all high school students and is geared toward developing young leaders. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers focused on topics relating to leadership, as well as personal and professional development. Please let Mrs. Warren know if you are interested ASAP and we need to have at least 10-12 students that want to attend on March 9, 2022.

Its that time of year again!! THE 2022 GOLD STAR AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING TEACHING nomination forms are here in the office and in the Media Center or you can nominate online. If you have a teacher that has made a difference in your life or has gone above and beyond, please nominate them!! It is a big honor 😊 Paper copy nominations are due to the office by Friday, February 18th or you can also nominate a teacher online https://www.mcelroytrust.org/goldstar-nomination

Juniors and seniors eligible for National Honor Society induction need to submit their Service Sheet to Mrs. Kriz by next Friday, January 28 at the end of the day. Mrs. Kriz has emailed the information again for those that need it.

If any junior or senior is wanting to take their Accuplacer, please email or stop in to set up a time to do so. Testing will now be offered on an individual basis instead of pre-set days.

Seniors that want to be considered for the Better Business Bureau’s Student of Integrity Award (scholarship) should turn in their application by February 4 to Mrs. Kriz.

Juniors – the Mother Moon Scholarship ($1000) application is now available! A Union High School student is guaranteed to be a recipient. The scholarship is based on volunteer service. Information was emailed to you.

Seniors – the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa Scholarship application is now available. This application provides the opportunity to be a recipient of thousands of dollars in scholarships! Information was emailed to you.

Seniors, we are in need of your senior and baby pictures for the yearbook. Please bring in to Mrs. Warren or email them to her.

If you are interested in taking Driver’s Ed this winter (sessions starting up February 14th and April 4th) please stop by the office for an informational flyer.
