Friday, October 8th RED Day Day 4

  •   “Special Prize Table Drawing”  You received an email from Mrs. Driscol with all the details!!  PLEASE  check this out!!!!  A lot of great items up for grabs!!!!    I will be drawing names on Wednesday afternoons. Be sure to fill out a slip with your first and last name on it and get entered for the drawing!  
  • 7th graders:  Please be sure to turn your EWALU Permission slips into the office ASAP.  Also, make sure you get signed up for a lunch.   You have to have these signed and turned in so you can attend the field trip on October 13th.  Thanks  
  • We have FREE passes available in the office for the Mega Monster Trucks Live which is coming up on October 15th through the 17th in Cedar Rapids. 
  • Reminder that it is Fire Prevention Week !!  Be sure to replace batteries in your smoke detectors, know your exit plan in case of a fire,etc. 
  • Be sure to check out the Wellsburg Haunted Corn Maze on October 22, 23 and 29  from 7 – 11 pm  and October 30 from 8 till midnight.  Located 1 mile east of Wellsburg. Also, if you would like to help out at this event they are in need of volunteers, just let us know in the office. 
  • There will be a Battle of the Books meeting during WIN today Please select Mrs. Spore if you would like to attend!
  • Great effort last night by our 7th and 8th grade football teams against Oelwein . 
  • Also, good job by our 7th and 8th grade volleyball players last night against GR.
  •  Please go and cheer on our high school football team tonight as they play North Fayette in LaPorte.  Games start at  5:00 pm. 
  • There will be no school on Monday due to Professional Development. Have a wonderful 3 day weekend.

Calling past and interested middle school dance team members, we are working on plans for the 2021-2022 season, but we have a last minute opportunity that came up for you to get involved! This year, the Union High School Dance Team is participating in the Witches & Wine event in Dysart, and we are inviting you to join us as well. The practice will be on Sunday, Oct. 10th, at Union Middle School from 3:30-4:30pm.  You are invited to come to practice starting at 3pm if you would like! The performance will take place on Thursday, Oct. 14th at 6:00pm. Dancers/participants will need to be at the Brick-A-Brack building no later than 5:30pm. If interested, please reach out to Coach Graveman by cell or email (319-464-2707 or shelbygraveman@gmail.com) so she knows to expect you. On Sunday, more information on costuming will be shared, and the dance will be taught/reviewed – is the same one as last year. Keeping tradition! Please wear practice attire and tennis shoes or jazz shoes to the practice, and bring a household broom to practice! 😊
