The girl’s swim meet on Saturday went amazingly well!! Carlie Spore dropped 4 seconds on her 100 fly and got quite the lead in both her relays!! Arabella won the 100 back and 100 fly!! Arabella Shepard was also awarded the conference athlete of the year with highest GPA award!! Please congratulate these ladies when you see them!!!!

Fall Play practice for this week is as follows:
Monday, October 15th – Alice In Wonderland at 6 p.m. and Wizard of Oz at 7:30 p.m. NO SCRIPTS!
Thursday, October 18th – Alice In Wonderland at 6 p.m. and Wizard of Oz at 7:30 p.m. NO SCRIPTS!
No practice on Tuesday due to the Fall Vocal Choir Concert

All stage workers, actors, and actresses in the Fall Play must help with set construction. We will be having set construction this week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please wear old clothes and shoes, as we will be pulling props and costumes, painting, pulling carts from storage, and building. If you have practice for sports or other extra-curriculars, you are excused. Otherwise, you are expected to be at set building.

Kirkwood Community College will be visiting UHS on Monday, October 22 during WIN. If you are a junior or senior interested in learning more about their programs, please submit your name through the Google Form Mrs. Kriz emailed out.
Kirkwood Community College is a two-year college located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, although they have satellite campuses in eight other locations. Kirkwood offers Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees, certificates, and diplomas. In all, the offer 120+ programs through their college. Kirkwood has athletic teams that compete through the NJCAA. Although they have many high-achieving teams, their golf program has made ten National Tournament appearances and their women’s basketball program has made six National Tournament appearances.

Students taking classes through Odysseyware should be finishing their Unit 3 today to stay on pace with the end of the trimester. Please see Mrs. Zondo or Mrs. Kriz if you have questions about your class or progress.
Thursday is COLLEGE APPLICATION DAY! If you are senior and haven’t submitted an application yet, make sure you attend! Seniors will be called by last name – if you need to apply, report to Room 19 with your Chromebook and your Social Security Number (must know for all applications). Those that do apply will be put in a drawing to win college gear – t-shirts, lanyards, water bottles, and more!

Starting this week there will be open pool at West from 3:00-4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays for those going out for the boys swim team this year. If you have questions, you can email Coach Haley.

There will be a BOYS SOCCER MEETING Tuesday, November 6th at 7:30 a.m. in the aud.

PHOTO RETAKES: School photo retakes are scheduled for Tuesday, October 23rd from 10:30-11:30 at the high school.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Girls planning on going out for basketball should sign up in the office. Also anyone interested in being girls basketball manager or video taping also sign up in the office.
