CHEER TRYOUTS: Cheer tryouts are TOMORROW at 9 a.m. in the wrestling room here at the high school. Those trying out please wear black shorts and white t-shirts.
Congrats to the swim girls who dominated at the meet last night winning by over 40 points!!! Highlights include CARLIE SPORE placing 3rd in the 100 fly along with getting an awesome lead in the 200 free relay!!! Way to go Carlie!!!! Arabella won the 100 fly and 200 free for individual events. The team also won both the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay. The team won just about every even last night. An incredible showing!!!
Today after school from 3:15-3:40-ish pm, Union Spectrum will meet in Ms. Zondo’s room. This student group is open the LBGTQ+ community and their allies (supportive friends).
Are you a junior or senior that currently plays League of Legends and/or Overwatch? If so, consider attending the meeting with the Hawkeye Community College Esport Coach on Friday, October 12 at 1:00 pm. HCC has a competitive Esports Team and they even offer scholarships! If interested, sign up through the Google Form Mrs. Kriz emailed out. You must be signed up at least a day in advance to attend. **Please note, this is not a HCC general visit but only to talk about the Esports Team.

SENIORS: Mrs. Kriz has ONE FAFSA appointment left on Thursday, October 18 at 4:00 pm. She has TWO FAFSA appointments available at 3:15 pm and 5:30 pm on Thursday, November 8. Please email her or stop in ASAP if you and a parent would like an appointment for help completing your FAFSA (financial aid = loans & grants) application.
The STUDENT FOOD DRIVE is underway! Advisory groups are competing against each other to be the BEST & earn FREE PIZZA . Help your group by bringing canned FRUIT and/or MONEY to advisory TUESDAY. The advisory competition has points for the following:
• Canned fruit (week 1 only) = 3 points
• Canned meat (week 2 only) = 3 points
• Granola bars and Mac ‘N Cheese (week 3 only) = 3 points
• Nut butters (peanut, sunflower, Nutella) = 5 points every week
• Money ($1) = 4 points every week
• Everything else = 1 point
There are also individual prizes given each week including t-shirts, UHS pencils, and Chick-Fil-A free sandwich cards.
UHS is going head-to-head against Hudson High School. Let’s sink the Pirates for the second year in a row!
