Students with an intermediate driver’s license please remember you will need a form signed by an administrator AND your parent if you plan on driving after 12:30 Saturday night. Forms are available in the office.

SNEIORS: If you have not yet voted for class flower and motto please do so before this Friday. An email was sent to you last Friday to vote.

Students taking OW classes should be finishing Unit 2 TODAY to stay on pace for the end of the trimester.

FREE Accuplacer testing is available next Thursday, October 4th. Seniors wanting to attend a community college and haven’t tested should consider signing up. Seats are limited! Sign up outside Mrs. Kriz’s office.

Congrats to Arabella Shepard for taking 1st in the 100 backstroke last night at the swim meet in Grinnell and to Carlie Spore for dropping over 1 second in her 100 butterfly and 4 seconds in her 100 breaststroke! Way to work hard ladies!!

Homecoming week is here! Cast your vote for the 2018 UHS queen and king. Check your email for the Google Form to vote. Voting will close Thursday at noon and the queen and king will be announced at the pep rally on Friday.

REMINDER: Guest forms for the Homecoming dance are due TODAY.

The student council will be hosting a “Pie in the Face” Fundraiser! Students will get the chance to throw a pie at Mr. Cayton or Mr. Slack during the Homecoming Pep Rally! $1 = 1 ticket Bring money Tuesday-Thursday next week during lunch if you would like to participate 

There is now a sign up in the office for BASKETBALL AND WRESTLING CHEERLEADERS. Tryouts will be on October 6th from 9-12.

Registration for the 2018-2019 JA Titan Challenge is open! Students (Juniors or Seniors) may register in teams of 2. This is open to any junior or senior high school student. The JA Titan Challenge is a day-long competition which places students in the CEO seat to help increase their understanding of business. Students are taught the nuances of running a global business in a competitive, high-tech marketplace. Student teams of 2 have complete control of managing and operating their own virtual business and making key decisions. Companies (teams) are challenged to outperform the competition in profit, sales, and market share.Members of the winning team will each receive a $1,500 scholarship for post-secondary education. Members of the second place team will each receive a $750 scholarship for post-secondary education. Consolation prizes may also be awarded. See Mrs. Warren for information. The challenge will be Wednesday, November 14th.

Boys wanting to sign up for the SWIM TEAM for the 18-19 school year please stop by the office and get an info sheet and complete the form needed by the coach.

DANCE TEAM: There are now dance team gear order forms here in the office if you need to order anything. Deadline is Thursday, October 4th at practice.
