Five UHS musicians honored at All-State auditions

Congratulations go out to the Union High School Vocal Music department on their outstanding showing at All-State auditions on Saturday October 24th.

Four UHS vocalists and one UHS instrumentalist were named All-State Musicians.  This is the highest honor a high school musician in the State of Iowa can receive.

Selected for her 2nd consecutive year was Sunshine Gray, Senior Alto I, daughter of Todd and Angela Gray. Selected for their first year were Tyson Fleshner, Senior Bass I, son of Travis and Stacy Fleshner; Sarah Michael, Junior Soprano II, daughter of Kerrie and Stephan Michael; and, Matthew Carlson, Sophomore Bass I, son of Reid and Steph Carolson. The students are under the direction of Tim J. Mitchell and Michael Bistline.

Unfortunately due to the pandemic, the in person festival will not take place this year in Ames. Congratulations to all!
