: come into town on Hwy 218, turn right onto Main Street (just pass
the car dealership), procedure approx. 3-4 blocks, turn right onto East Tama
Road, UHS three blocks ahead.

east
: come into town on Brandon

Street, turn left onto East Tama Road, UHS three blocks ahead.

west
: from Dysart Road come into town on East Tama Road, go five miles, UHS is on your left down the hill

Union
High School location:
park in the front: main principals’ office is through center set of doors,
administrative superintendent office is through the south set of doors.

 

History of our district:

UnionCommunity
School district is the consolidated
school district of La Porte City High School and
Dysart-Geneseo High School districts.
They shared during the school years from 1987-1990. Plans began to merge and
the merger became final in 1991. The high school is in La
Porte City (Black Hawk County), the middle school is in Dysart (Tama County),
and both towns have an elementary school.

The
district covers 256 square miles in the counties of Black Hawk, Benton, Tama,
and Buchanan
